At our Stated Communication on August 6, 2026—the first Stated Communication our Lodge has held during the month of August in many years, and it was enjoyed in air conditioned comfort—we elected Messrs. Thomas Johnson and Joseph McLamb to receive the degrees of Masonry.
We also scheduled a practice for the upcoming Entered Apprentice Degree to be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Your attendance and participation are greatly appreciated as we prepare to confer this important degree.
The following stations and places have been assigned based on volunteerism, current Lodge office, or established tradition:

Our Bicentennial Year is quickly approaching, and it is time for our Annual Business Meeting, which includes the election of officers for 2027.
In accordance with Section 302 of the Book of Constitutions of the Grand Lodge of the State of North Carolina, all members are hereby summoned to attend the Annual Business Meeting to be held at the home of Joseph Warren Lodge No. 92, 2501 Nash Street NW, Wilson, NC 27896, on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.
The purpose of this meeting is to fulfill the requirements of our Annual Meeting as prescribed by our bylaws, including the election of officers for the ensuing year. As we prepare to celebrate the 200th anniversary of our Lodge in 2027, planning is well underway. We encourage every Brother to join us as we begin this historic chapter in the life of our Lodge.
If you have not attended Lodge in some time, we respectfully ask you to remember your obligation as it pertains to answering Masonic summonses. Your officers need and appreciate the support of the entire Lodge, and your presence is important.
Dinner will be served at 6:45 p.m., followed by our Stated Communication at 7:30 p.m.
We look forward to seeing you as we gather to conduct the business of our Lodge and prepare for our Bicentennial Year.

As we embark into our Bicentennial year, we will comemorate the issuance of our Charter at this SC.
On December 29, 1826: At a Grand Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of North Carolina… following the opening of the Grand Lodge in Ample Form, Brother Jesse Speight was appointed to the Committee on Charters along with Robert Strange, George E. Spruill, Louis D. Wilson (Concord Lodge No 58), and John E, Lewis.
Brother George E. Spruill presented a petition From Joseph Warren Lodge, Stantonsburg and Brother Louis D. Wilson the petition for Mt. Moriah, Edgecombe praying for charters; which were referred to the committee on charters.
Subsequently, on January 2, 1827: The Grand Lodge convened pursuant to adjournment… The committee on Charters made a Report, recommending that charters be granted to Joseph Warren Lodge, Stantonsburg; Mt. Moriah Lodge, Edgecombe county; which was concurred in.
The hard copy of that Charter was executed and dated January 27, 1827.
The Grand Officers at the time were:
Hutchins Gordon Burton, Grand Master; Francis Lister Hawks, Deputy Grand Master; George E. Spruill, Grand Senior Warden; Louis Dicken Wilson, Junior Grand Warden; Benjamin A. Barham, Grand Treasurer; Alexander J. Lawrence, Grand Secretary; Samuel F. Patterson, Grand Senior Deacon; John E. Lewis, Grand Junior Deacon; and
The Officers of Joseph Warren Lodge No 92 at that time were:
Jesse Vines Speight, Master; Benjamin Miller, Senior Warden; Patrick Sutherland Cromwell, Junior Warden; Thomas Amason, Treasurer; B. Thomas, Secretary; William Little, Senior Deacon; Morrison "Maid "R. Thomas, Junior Deacon.
